The Truth of Christ Consciousness

In this article I am writing about the truth of Christ consciousness. I am following Master Hilarion’s teaching [1].

I quote Master Hilarion:« (…) Jesus said ‘I  the Christ consciousness, am the truth’. Yes, it is the truth in the sense that it is the antidote to duality because it is the way out of duality»[2].

The Safety Mechanism of Duality

Most people on earth are in a state of mind generally called ‘duality’ where the ego determines that it must be an absolute truth and therefore an 'absolute error' or falsity.

This is the natural way of seeing everything when we are in this state of mind.  The ego's basic needs are security and justification.

It needs to justify itself because it was born in the world of form, denying the true nature of the spiritual self — the 'conscious you' — so that it can experience what is only possible in a world of form.

However, as the Masters have taught us, there are safety mechanisms on Earth to prevent any being from staying in an extreme state of illusion, such as fallen duality consciousness, forever.

Therefore, it is not possible to remain in this state of mind forever, although it can be maintained for a long time.

Duality consciousness is a safety mechanism in itself. The more we push a particular possibility to the extreme, the more it generates a counter-force, thereby creating its own opposite and making it impossible for anything to persist indefinitely.

These opposites then struggle against one another, yet neither can prevail.

When beings have had enough of the increasing effort required to maintain this state of mind, the greater the opposition becomes until they cry out for something different.

Meanwhile, beings in duality live in a state of constant conflict, as we have witnessed on Earth.

Christ’s Truth Does Not Have an Opposite

For those of us who have been struggling for many lifetimes, we are now trying to get rid of the many subconscious selves that make up the separate self, or ego.

At some point, we begin to develop our intuitive minds — Christ consciousness — and only then can we grasp why there is no absolute truth and why this is merely a desire of the ego that wants to remain secure in this world by controlling 'what can happen'.

We cannot truly understand Christ consciousness until we pass the 96^(th) initiation because it is at this point that we realise that we are more than our ego and that our true self extends beyond it.

Without this, we have no access to Christ consciousness, although we may have had glimpses of it before, without realising it.

Christ consciousness does not provide us with logical concepts or comparisons; it simply appears as a 'vision', if we may call it that, that reveals a greater truth than any other we were struggling to find.

It is a sudden flow that floods us completely, making us realise without the intervention of logic that there is a higher way of seeing things than we had previously realised. We know without reasoning that this is the higher way of seeing things.

We could describe it as a flow that encompasses our entire being, lifting us to a higher level. However, it is specific to a particular context; it is not the ultimate answer or truth.

Whatever is shown to us through the Christ mind always goes beyond the ‘me’ in opposition to anything or anyone. It is always the answer that best serves the whole in relation to our thoughts.

As self-transcendence itself, we can understand why Christ consciousness never gives us any ultimate truth. It does not aim to make us win any disputes or conquer anything in this world.

Its only aim is to show us a 'higher approach' than the approach of the ego whenever we connect to it. It always reconnects us to our true identity as spiritual beings incarnated on Earth.

It reminds us that we can only grow when connected to the Christ mind, and that salvation and growth are not found in duality.

We can only develop our unique Omega identities by connecting to the Christ Mind.

As Master Hilarion states, the purpose of coming to a world of form is to experience what our Creator intended to create in this world, and to understand why it was created as it is.

After all, we are created in the image of our Creator, and so we have the potential to become creators of a world of form ourselves in the distant future.

Just as our Creator did.
