The Spiritual Path is a Path of Becoming More Free

In this article, I continue to write about freedom. I am still commenting on the teachings of Master St Germain. I quote:

«But how do you become free? Only by looking at the conditions in your mind that are making you unfree, that are imprisoning you. You must unwind the chain in your own psyche, in your own subconscious mind and in your conscious mind that keeps you trapped.»[1]

Duality consciousness is a Prison in the Mind

We must face it: for a long time, human beings on Earth have chosen to remain in a state of duality, forgetting that they are more than the separate self created to experiment with freedom.

They have identified with this state of consciousness, regarding it as the only possible way to relate to life, others, and themselves.

This has created a huge structure within the four material bodies, with many subconscious selves acting as mechanical, compulsive responses to situations encountered in everyday life on an unnatural planet such as Earth.

They have created a Catch-22 situation for themselves because, in order to escape duality, they need help, as they can no longer see any alternative to this separate sense of identity.

They are not imprisoned by external conditions, although they think they are; they are prisoners of their own minds.

The Original illusion  about Freedom

As Master St Germain states in this discourse, the fallen beings fell because they thought that by denying the Creator’s rules of learning from the consequences of their actions, they would be truly free.

They believed that by denying responsibility for the consequences of their actions, they would be free to do whatever they wanted without worrying about the consequences.

This assumption could only have been made by a self-centred being who focused only on their own self-interest and disregarded the interests of all other beings around them.

It also failed to consider the reality of life's interconnectedness, and therefore the influence of our actions on, and the influence of our environment on, our own actions and events.

Being concerned only with self-interest is not constructive for life as a whole, nor for oneself.

And yet, these beings who had attained such extreme levels of egotism and desire to feel superior chose to disregard all this.

They lied to themselves, however, so that they could continue with their intentions. But are they free?

They are the least free self-aware beings on this planet. The choice they made to experience what it is like to be 'masters of this universe' by making others fall and be controlled by them has put them in a straitjacket.

Why? Because they forgot the safety mechanism built into duality by our creator to prevent beings from becoming lost in it forever without other options.

Duality is a Safety Mechanism in Itself

In the world of form – or any other world, for that matter – nothing can remain static.

As the Buddha taught us, everything in duality comes in pairs: good/bad, true/false, and so on.

Therefore, when you attach yourself to an extreme, such as the desire to be a 'good person', you immediately create the opposite polarity of a 'bad person' that you try to distance yourself from.

In reality, however, you create a subconscious self that sees itself as a 'good person' and immediately starts to separate itself from what it perceives as 'bad people'.

This self now needs to defend its position as the ‘truth’ from what it sees as ‘wrong’.

This is how ego dramas and epic dramas are created, resulting in the suffering and sorrow we see throughout history.

Every experience we have is based on this state of duality, and we make value judgements to ensure that we are ‘on while the ones who are in the opposite side «are in the wrong side’.

We feel the need to defend our positions against others who defend opposing views, whom we see as enemies or opponents.

Now, imagine the millions of subconscious selves created in our many past lives on this planet.

It is not hard to see why our spiritual path is one of freedom. At the first stage, we become free of the epic drama instilled in the collective consciousness throughout history.

From the 96th stage onwards, we must deal with our subtle ego dramas that fill our material bodies.

When the Masters talk about dismantling the ego structures after the 96^th level, they are referring to the process of cleaning the four material bodies until they are 'transparent' to the Christ mind.

At that point, we are free in earthly terms. However, there is much more to learn about freedom beyond Earth.
