Service and Peace

In this article I am commenting the words of Master Nada:

«There is a fundamental difference between looking at service through the filter of the outer mind and deciding, for whatever reason, that you have to serve (and then engaging in some activity that fulfils [1]your definition of what service means), and then looking at service through the clarity, the neutrality of the Christ mind».

The Outer Self and the Sense of Separate Identity

In the early stages of spiritual growth, we see the world through the filter of the outer self, or ego.

This self is created to experience separation and to ask, 'How does it feel to see and experience ourselves as separate beings?'

This is part of our experimentation with freedom on Earth, but like any other experience we can have here, it is meant to be temporary.

However, fallen consciousness wants to make this 'separation experience' the ultimate state of being.

Why? Because it has chosen to identify completely with this sense of separation. But there is a high price to pay: being born in duality means that the separate sense of identity is, as Master Nada states, in a permanent state of lack.

The separate self can never feel at peace; it is in a constant state of self-judgement and comparison with others. The basic reason for this is duality itself.

As the Masters have stated, duality is a safety mechanism designed in such a way that it is impossible to attain peace or definitive agreement among beings.

Many beings who have lived with this mindset for many lives reach a point where they want more from life than struggle. Some of them then look for spirituality.

However, they do this when they still have many subconscious selves created in duality, and these selves colour the way they see themselves as 'spiritual persons'.

But who is it that sees itself as a ‘spiritual person’? The ego, of course — the ego that wants to immortalise itself.

However, we need to realise that the self created on Earth cannot be immortalised. Although it can be perfected according to earthly standards, it cannot ascend.

The separate self is not self-aware, although it seems to be. In reality, it only seems so because the 'conscious you', the only self-aware being, identifies with it.

The tricky part of this process is that the 'conscious you' identified with this separate sense of identity a long time ago and forgot that it was just a temporary experience, not a permanent state of mind.

As long as this identification remains, so-called 'spiritual people' will continue to offer service from the perspective of the separate self.

The Outer Self Cannot Give True Service

The separate self was born in the material world. Although it was created through the Christ mind, it cannot experience oneness; its nature is duality and separation, as Master Nada remarks.

However, service is only possible in oneness and the Christ Mind. Thus, the ego simulates service. How? By performing external actions that it sees as 'sacrifice'.

The self-centred ego ‘sacrifices itself’ by performing certain actions and expects to receive a reward for this, whether that be salvation or support from others.

It also constantly judges itself, trying to define 'true service', 'better service', and so on, and judges others accordingly against these standards created on earth. But this is not true service.

True Service and Peace

As Master Nada states, true service and peace go hand in hand. The first thing we need to remember is that this can only happen once we have resolved a considerable number of aspects of our ‘psychology’.

Until we leave Earth, I suppose we cannot experience complete peace because we are a 'mix' of the awareness of our 'conscious you' connected to the Christ mind and the remnants of the ego.

However, we can attain a significant level of Christ consciousness, which enables us to experience life on Earth from a neutral perspective. This means that we are not concerned with the results of our service.

We are not seeking reward for our service; we are depersonalising our life experience and allowing the flow of spiritual light to express itself through us without judgement or expectation.

In the words of Master Nada, we are 'in peace'; we are simply expressing the Christ within our unique and individual beings.

We are open doors through which light flows, and we feel rewarded by the experience of being 'in the flow', as the masters say.

By doing this seemingly 'without doing anything', we experience the truth that service and peace are one and the same.
