Looking for Divine Direction

In this article, I will be commenting on the words of the Divine Director.

: « Divine direction is not about right and wrong. Divine direction is about helping you transcend duality. Well, divine direction is much more, but when it comes to Earth as an unnatural planet, the primary goal of divine direction is to help you transcend duality.[1]

The Need to be ‘Right’ Comes from a Subconscious Self

We are spiritual students, but we are still in a state of duality for as long as we are on Earth. This is not only because Earth is an unnatural planet, but also because its inhabitants chose a long time ago to remain in this state of consciousness.

Dual consciousness allows us to experience many things that are not possible in Christ consciousness, such as feeling superior, feeling like a victim of circumstances or feeling separate from others.

However, this comes at a high cost: once we are fully immersed in this mindset, we become prisoners of our own choice, as we are constantly compelled to 'defend' our ego and find ourselves in a perpetual state of comparison with others.

We create what Master Jesus talked about: the ego and epic dramas that justify our choices and our sense of separate identity.

A mortal sense of identity cannot sustain itself outside of duality; therefore, it constantly needs to legitimise itself. And how does it do this? By projecting the idea that we are right, that we are 'good people', and that we make the right choices.

The problem with this is that, in duality, if one person is right, another must be wrong, because it is impossible for everyone to be right, since duality can only exist in contrast to its opposite.

Therefore, it is understandable that when a person finds the spiritual path, they do so with the intention of 'separating the waters' between themselves, as a good person with a superior moral sense, and others who are not like them.

However, this only works for a time, because no one can spiritually progress by remaining in the illusions of duality.

The Masters have told us about the limit of growth that can be attained by remaining in duality: the 95th level.

At that point, we must make a conscious decision to let go of the separate self that was created when we began our journey of incarnation and started to experiment with freedom in the world of form.

The Challenge of the 96th Initiation

When a student approaches the 96th level of consciousness possible on Earth, they must make a crucial decision. Am I going to let go of my sense of separate identity – the first illusion – in order to experiment with freedom, or am I going to keep it?

We were created free beings; therefore, we can choose to keep the separate self. But what we cannot do is t is to keep growing as spiritual beings at the same time.

This is because choosing to keep the separate self means remaining in an illusory state of mind that was only ever intended to last for the duration of our experiment with freedom.

This separate sense of identity compares itself to others and is horrified by the possibility of being wrong, of making a 'wrong choice', and so on.

More precisely, it is not the separate self that is afraid of being wrong, but the ‘conscious you’ that identifies with that mortal sense of identity and is afraid of being proven wrong.

Why? Because the ‘conscious you’ knows that it is an expression of the unity of the Christ Mind yet has chosen to identify indefinitely with a separate sense of identity, which it perceives as an infringement of its own nature.

The separate self is not self-aware, like any other subconscious self. It can only live within a mind that is self-aware. And this is the ‘conscious you’.

The 'conscious you' is driven by the desire to become more and transcend itself because this is the principle that drives life itself.

However, when the conscious self identifies with the separate self, which wants to remain unchanged, this creates discomfort at a subconscious level and generates the need to justify why remaining in duality is a 'good choice'.

This discomfort never goes away, which is why life in duality is always a struggle.

As spiritual students, we must be aware that, if we are to commit to the spiritual path, we must choose to let go of the separate self and connect to the Christ mind.

In the Christ mind, we know that any experience can be positive if it helps us to grow. As the Divine Director states, there are no 'right or wrong' choices. There are only choices that help us grow, and choices that don't.

There is no continuity between the 95th and 96th levels of consciousness on Earth; a gap exists between the two states of mind, from duality to oneness.
