Looking at External conditions as Opportunities

In this article, I will discuss the idea of viewing external conditions as opportunities.

At a recent conference[1], Lady Portia reminded us that dramatic events occurring in the world, such as the wars taking place, are opportunities.

But what are these opportunities for? «The dramatic events provide an opportunity for people to see the consequences of allowing one group or one man to make decisions for everyone»[2].

It is an opportunity for us to see what can happen when we don’t take responsibility for ourselves and blindly allow a small group or individual to make decisions on our behalf.

Therefore, it is an opportunity for us to see that giving a small group of people all the power on a planet like Earth is not in our own best  interest, because the fewer people who decide on matters such as war, the greater the possibility of making bad decisions.

The Psychology of Conformism

We know from our Masters that the inhabitants of Earth decided to conform a long time ago, which created entropy on the planet.

They decided that they didn’t want to make decisions themselves, instead delegating this role to a small group of leaders.

Although the Earth has changed in many ways since then, people still adapt to circumstances that do not blatantly challenge their conformity.

According to Lady Porta, the collective consciousness on Earth shows that most people are in the 'school of hard knocks'. This means that they need to see physical results before they will take action.

This is why Lady Portia sees wars and conflicts as opportunities for people to realise that they have had enough and change their mindset.

For most people, however, seeing the effects of war is shocking, and the ego, which is strong at this level of consciousness, tends to look outside for a 'culprit' or scapegoat to blame for the conflicts.

However, there is always the potential to change our consciousness and accept that whatever happens on Earth is co-created by us. Earth is a learning environment and reflects the collective state of consciousness at any given time.

How to Make a Difference in a turbulent World

We can presently say that the Earth has reached a point where events have become so absurd that people have the opportunity to evaluate what is happening from a spiritual point of view.

As spiritual students, how can we make a difference in today's world?

Lady Portia gives us the answer: 'When we are given the opportunity to cling to the Rock of Christ, we remain neutral and ask: what lessons do we need to learn here?»[3]

If we take the opportunity to connect with the Christ Mind - the only mind capable of providing a true perspective from outside the ego's perceptions - we will find the answer.

This answer will not be the same for everyone who asks these questions but will be personalised for each of us.

Because we have within the personalised Christ mind the ‘conscious you’, the localised awareness of the I am Presence.

Whatever our circumstances or life context, we will receive the answer we need right now.

However, all answers have one universal characteristic: we need to remain neutral in relation to the polarisation happening in the world.

Worldly events reflect the duality of Earth's consciousness, and we must rise above this polarity. This means not merely adopting a middle ground between opposites but transcending them through the mind of Christ.

As the Masters have repeatedly said at this conference, we need to connect to the one mind of Christ in order to keep the balance on Earth, rather than taking one part against the other and pointing the finger.

This is the true balance that is always beyond all expressions of duality. Then, we must use this balance to exercise our authority as embodied beings on this planet and decide that we will no longer accept things like the wars happening on Earth right now.

The Masters have provided us with the tools to proceed with this, reinforcing the fact that we must remain neutral and avoid taking sides in the conflict.

If we do so, however, we will still be within the dynamic of duality, which will not help the Earth.

Worldly events reflect Earth's dualistic consciousness, and we must position ourselves beyond this polarity. We can do this by transcending it through the Christ mind.
