Initiations of the Fourth Level of Wisdom- Purity of Intention

In this article, I address the initiations of the fourth level of wisdom: purity of intention. I am following the teachings of Lord Lanto[1].

The Security of the Ego and the Security of the Christ Mind

Everyone on Earth is affected by the ego to some degree — some more than others, of course. If this weren't the case, they would have ascended because they would not be able to remain in their material bodies.

The ego primarily looks for security. One way it does this is by seeking what the ego perceives as 'wisdom', but this is merely intellectual reasoning and external knowledge.

As Lord Lanto states «(…)students tend to use wisdom in order to validate what makes their ego’s feel secure.»[2]

This is an impossible quest for several reasons. Firstly, the ego looks for absolute and unchangeable truths, but it can only find relative 'truths' on Earth, where nothing is unchangeable. Therefore, only relative truths can be found.

Lord Lanto elaborates on this by saying that all 'truths on Earth' are not only relative, but always relative to an opposite. This means that they can always be refuted by another 'truth' and proven false.

Therefore, trying to achieve absolute truth on Earth is not only frustrating, but also impossible. Only an illusory state of mind can make someone feel secure because it has achieved certainty about this or that.

But what about the wisdom brought to us by the Ascended Masters? Can the ego use this 'truth' to feel secure?

Many spiritual students believe it is possible because they think the Ascended Masters provide absolute truth.

However, this is not the case, as Lord Lanto teaches us:

« When I say that any expression of “wisdom” that comes from the duality consciousness has an opposite, this is true; yet, it is equally true that any expression of wisdom that comes from the ascended masters also has an opposite.»[3]

And why does this happen? Do the Ascended Masters deny us the 'absolute truth' that would make us feel secure in this world?

The answer is no, but it isn’t that simple. On the one hand, the teachings are given to us in words because, as I said at the beginning, we see the world through our egos, which use the mind's dualistic, word-based reasoning.

People on Earth cannot immediately experience the 'truth' given to us by our Masters because we all have numerous selves created in our four material bodies that filter what the Masters say. Lord Lanto explains this:

« When you are looking at an ascended master teaching through the perception filter of the outer self, the separate self, you can easily see an opposite to the ascended master teaching.»[4]

What we need to do is go beyond the words and experience the spirit expressing itself through them. Instead of interpreting the words using our external concepts, we must strive to experience the Master saying them.

Words are always relative, but the Master is not:« I have said that you should never focus on the words so that you forget the spirit behind the words. It is essential for you to connect to my Presence, to the flow of wisdom, the living Spirit of Wisdom.»[5]

Rather than trying to 'understand' with our external minds, we simply quiet the mind and open up to the Master expressing through the words.

When we do this, we connect to our Christ mind - the 'conscious you' —-and naturally, without any effort, transcend the words to experience wisdom.

In other words, we cannot experience wisdom without surrendering the outer mind.

That’s when we pass the initiations of the fourth level, which have to do with ‘purity of intention’: the intention to become an open door for the spirit only.

As spiritual students, our security lies in the pure awareness of our Christ mind - our ‘conscious you’- which seeks security not in this world of form, but in being one with the spirit.

This kind of security is the certainty that, as long as we strive to be an open door for the spirit, we will always transcend ourselves. It is this wisdom that we can always rely on.
