Beyond the Duality of Men and Women.

In this article, I will write about how we can go beyond the duality of men and women, by referring to two complementary forces named 'Tai Chi' in ancient texts and referred to by Lady Master Portia in a conference as the expansive and contracting forces.[1]
Ancient Taoist texts refer to this as the primordial source from which all material forms originate, through the perpetual interplay of yin and yang forces.
Lady Portia says: « These forces are complementary, not opposites. Each refers to the other. Any form that we can see in the physical world comes from the interdependent origins of these two forces.» [2]
But why is this relevant to us spiritual students in the 21^(st) century? Because the prevalent dualistic mindset on Earth has misinterpreted these two complementary forces as 'opposed'.
According to dualistic consciousness, two opposed things are separate from one another, and the characteristics of each have no common ground: they are antagonistic.
As Lady Master Portia asserts, this is not the highest understanding of the two forces commonly referred to as the 'masculine force' and the 'feminine force'. The opposition between these concepts has been used since ancient times to create a dynamic of superiority and inferiority between men and women.
The expansive force, the contractive force, and the Christ Mind.
Lady Master Portia reminded us that, although the Creator is an individual being, it is neither masculine nor feminine. This does not mean, however, that it is undifferentiated.
All spiritual beings have a unique identity, and the oneness of our Creator is far beyond our understanding in this world of form.
In the world of form, however, we can only have 'forms' — not just one form — if they are differentiated. Wherever we find material manifestations of life, we find differentiation, which is created through two interdependent forces: expansion and contraction.
However, the mind that created these two forces, the 'first logos' or 'the begotten son' of the creator, was Christ's mind. Christ's mind always finds 'the trail' of every form back to the creator, ensuring that no created form becomes lost or separate.
As Lady Master Portia remarks, the first world of form that was created was the first sphere. More spheres were subsequently created until the seventh, which is where we are now on planet Earth.
Each new sphere was denser than the previous one, and, as Lady Portia stated, the density of matter determines the 'laws that will rule each world of form';
« In the planes above the physical plane, there are forms, but they are less dense than physical bodies and are therefore not subject to the same laws. In the denser parts of the physical plane, the laws are more limited. » [3]
Among other effects, the denser matter of the 7th sphere necessitated the differentiation between the sexes, resulting in the creation of the concepts of the masculine and the feminine.
However, from this differentiation, a dynamic of superiority and inferiority was created, and men claimed the 'superior' status for themselves. For a long time, women also accepted their 'inferior' role in relation to men.
Today, however, we can discuss this dynamic and recognise that it is not a constructive way for men and women to connect.
This dualistic view of men and women led to a fruitless battle between the sexes in the last century, but today, more men and women are embracing Christ's vision of a complementary union between the sexes.
But in many places around the world, this hasn’t happened yet. If we are to leave this dualistic dynamic behind, men and women must learn to see each other as complementary beings who are both necessary for balance.
If we can use the word, men and women have the same 'value' in the eyes of the creator, and we know that in our many past lives, we have experienced both gender polarities.
From a spiritual perspective, being a 'man' or a 'woman' is irrelevant: we are all extensions of a spiritual being that is not defined by any limited gender. On Earth, we can have a dominant polarity; however, we are much more than that particular characteristic.
Having a certain polarity in the physical world merely describes a characteristic that only makes sense in that world.
One day, we will all realise that our uniqueness lies in a kind of oneness that transcends form.
